January 2012
Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,
It is with mixed emotions that I shared the news with your children last week that I will be transferring over to Rideau Valley Middle School on Monday January 30th. My last day at North Gower is Friday, January 27th. This transition also includes the final chapter in the merging of both Kars and RideauValley for September 2012. The work and dedication that has already taken place for this merger has been above and beyond the call of duty for all staff, children, and the community at large. I can honestly say that I believe that this merging process is in the best interest for Kars Rideau Valley Public School as well as North Gower Marlborough Public School.
Mrs. Rebecca Shields will be officially joining us from Sir Winston Churchill Public School January 30th. Mrs. Shields spent the entire day with us last Tuesday. We visited all of the classrooms and each class prepared a special welcome for her. Mrs. Shields is delighted that she is Mooooving On Up!
My goal last week was to discuss with each classroom the positives of this transition. I spoke about reuniting with some of their brothers and sisters at Kars Rideau Valley. I also let our children know that when we sing the Rideau Valley Song at our Grade 5 Farewell Ceremony, I will once again have the pleasure to see them again when they arrive at their new school.
To be the Principal of North Gower-Marlborough Public School has been one of the most enriching and rewarding experiences of my career. The tremendous support, thoughtfulness and the commitment to life long learning from the entire North Gower staff is outstanding. I know that your children are working with an exceptional group of people and they are in good hands each and every day.
Your unwavering commitment as parents and people of the North Gower Community is truly unparalleled.
I have been truly blessed to be a part of North Gower-Marlborough Public School - The Jewel of North Gower and your children's lives.
We thank you for entrusting your children to us.
Together.... "We Make A Huge Impact On Little Lives"
Sincerely,
Rick Haggar
Proud Principal Of NorthGower-MarlboroughPublic School
