Advocacy

As part of their role as an elected representative, trustees work closely with members of various levels of government to support the needs of OCDSB students and address issues concerning public education.

These efforts are informed through input and discussions with students, parents/caregivers, school councils, staff and community partners for advice and recommendations.

Advocacy initiatives are conducted in partnership with provincial counterparts through the Ontario Public School Boards Association. Trustees may also work closely with local, provincial and national organizations.
